Lake olbolosat is a free to access site. It can be accessed through several routes around Giligil-Nyahururu Road. One of those is from Kasuku town through Samawati conservancy and Tamarisk resort.

- Weather: Chilly. Lake olbolosat is located in Nyandarua County which is popular of its cold weather, if you are visiting this place remember to carry warm clothing. Also if you will be having a Lakeside walk, carry an umbrella, sometime it tends to drizzle.
- Topography/ terrain: Plain. Generally speaking, the area around lake olbolosat is flat, grassy with a few trees. The roads though not tarmac, are well maintained and one can rely on them whether on foot, using a bike or a 2 wheel drive vehicle.
- Safety: Good. Lake Olbolosat is a safe place to visit but it’s not advisable to walk along the lake at night (after 6pm), its possible to bump into a hippo.
